Revolutionary Apple Sorting Equipment
To handle your products with care
Why Is Apple Sorting So Important?
Apple sorters have become increasingly important nowadays due to strict market standards for uniform apples with desirable size, color, and quality features. Being one of the toughest fruits to handle, apples can bruise very easily and need the optimal apple sorting equipment to manage them with care.
At Quadra, we offer cost-effective and reliable sorter machines for apples. We employ cutting-edge technology and high-speed HD cameras to analyze the inner and outer characteristics of the apples and sort them by diameter and color, as well as for external quality defects such as discoloration, bitter pit, and internal defects like sugar level, ripeness, and more.
HDiA Technology
Self-learning AI technology
Apple Sorting Technology Redefined
There are over 7000 different varieties of apples in the world each with discrete organoleptic properties that are difficult to distinguish visually. Over the years, our engineers at Italy have perfected a self-learning AI technology that learns to identify new apple variants and their unique properties on the fly. With our patented HDiA optical sorting technology on board, our apple sorting machines have shown remarkable results in sizing apples, classifying them by color, and identifying any surface defects or internal blemishes that may be present in the apple.
Custom-Made Apple Packing Lines
Apple Sorters for Small Enterprises
We work closely with our clients to deliver appropriately sized apple processing solutions that match their budget and production capacity. Our single-lane and double-lane apple sorting machines are ideal for small to medium-sized businesses on a tight budget seeking an adequate solution for grading and sorting small amounts of apples by size and color. Our apple sorters have a smart modular design that allows our customers to scale up to larger apple processing lines in the future.
Industrial Apple Packaging Facilities
Quadra specializes in designing complete, turn-key apple sorting and packing lines for industrial plants. First, apples are dumped in a water basin by means of automatic bin and crate dumping systems. Then, they are thoroughly cleaned in an apple washing machine using water, detergents, and special brushes for delicate fruits. A waxing machine applies protective wax on the apples which are then air dried for the wax to set and to remove any moisture. Finally, the apples are sorted to different exits where automatic apple packing and bagging machines, bin filling systems, and labeling machines can be installed.

Why Choose Quadra?
✓ One Sorter for Many Fruits:
Our optical sorting machines can easily process multiple fruits on the same machine. With proper scheduling, it is possible to utilize the sorter all year long based on the seasonality of the fruits, rather than purchasing several sorting machines for each fruit type.
✓ Robustness, Reliability, and Availability of Spare Parts:
Our apple sorting equipment can last longer than competitor European machines and need very little maintenance. Even the maintenance cost, when necessary, is relatively very low since our spare parts are common and readily available in the general market at a low cost.
✓ Flexibility in Sorting Parameters:
Our interactive software allows users to choose and modify sorting parameters at any instant for each exit without technical assistance.
✓ Outstanding Defects Recognition:
Our patented HDiA system uses a real-time AI technology that learns and adapts to new apple characteristics and defects on the go. Our systems have collected sufficient data over the years from machines operating around the world to detect every type of apple defect.
✓ Remote Assistance:
Our machines are connected to the Internet through a secure network that allows our technicians to follow the operation of the machine and promptly manage it remotely. This allows us to significantly reduce their downtime and to continuously update our databases to reach exceptional degrees of reliability.
